If you’re looking for a sweet treat for a cheap price, Molly’s Cupcakes is the place to go. Located on N. Clark Street, Molly’s Cupcakes offers delicious cupcakes that are not the typical cupcakes you’d bake yourself. Even better, Molly’s Cupcakes donates a portion of their sales to schools around the city. If you buy two, you don’t have to feel as guilty about it since it is for a good cause.

If you couldn’t tell, Molly’s primarily serves cupcakes of various sizes and flavors from raspberry and white chocolate, to peach cobbler. All of the cupcakes are decorated beautifully with the centers filled with melted chocolate, raw cookie dough, or another creamy type of filling. If nothing on the menu really catches your eye, you can build your own cupcake with any combination you want – well, they’ll build and you supervise. The company also does offer other desserts like cookies, eclairs, pies and cheesecake.

The other desserts kind of play second stage since cupcakes are what the company focuses on. Drinks at Molly’s Cupcakes aren’t the best and not really worth it when the water is free. The coffee isn’t too memorable and the tea is brewed too strong.

One good thing to note is all the desserts and drinks are made fresh throughout the day, so unlike other bakeries, nothing has sat there all night. The staff is very friendly too, and the service is counter service so can you get in and get out quickly.

The room itself decorated nicely. It is full color and decoration but it does kind of come off as rather childish. There is enough seating if you decide to eat there.

All in all, if you’re ever in this area of Lincoln Park, it is worth spending the extra money as a way to treat yourself and your friends. 3 out of 5 torches.
