Baseball season is about to get underway and coach Steve Marchi is preparing his team for the tough road ahead but he believes they are ready for the challenge. “What we are looking to improve on first off is our record, we were one win short to make it into the playoffs. We never reached .500 so we are trying to do that for the first time ever and make the conference tournament,” Marchi said.
“When we played Trinity Christian early they let us count those games on our record. We are going to be a completely different ball club come february and spring play so we can improve as a team and hope we can compete in the first two weeks of the season,” Marchi said.
“I think we are going to have a great offensive team we have Colten Treager and Logan Fleener and returning freshman of the year Matt Kozlak so we will score some runs and have the second best defense in our league and pitching in the upper class level” Marchi said. “We also have a good rotation in Matt Dunne, Mike Marrera, and Jared Jayne who was our top pitcher last year.”
“Our goal this season is to win conference in either the regular season or the the conference tournament. This year is the year and I truly believe that everyone on the team is on the same boat with that goal.” Perez said.
