Positivity in the city: Black Ink Crew Chicago

Chicago is known for great food and even better music, but when it comes to TV, very few shows are filmed inside the beautiful city limits. You may see a movie being filmed here and there, such as Batman Begins in 2006, but reality TV shows filmed in Chicago are rare.

“Black Ink Crew Chicago” is a reality TV show on VH1 that features a group of tattoo artists who were all born and raised in the city.

While this is only the first season of the show, it has received a lot publicity and attention. The tattoo shop featured on the show is called “9 Mag.” The shop is managed and owned by Ryan Henry, and features other up-and-coming tattoo artists from different parts of the city. The second episode for this season recently aired, and the show gives a great example of something positive going on in the city instead of focusing solely on the negative.

Chicago is always portrayed in such a bad light, but this show gives the rest of the world a chance to see positive things going on in Chicago as well as the highly publicized violence.

If the show continues to focus on the amazing tattoo artists and their work, I see nothing but great things for Black Ink Crew Chicago. You can watch Black Ink crew on VH1 every Monday at 8:00 p.m.
