In a follow up from her debut book, “Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?” comedic actress Mindy Kaling has done it again. “Why Not Me?” is a fantastically hilarious book from creator of “The Mindy Project.” It offers some insight to Kaling’s life as a comedy writer/actress and just how tough of a gig that can be, as well as exploring other events in her life that have happened due to her success as a comedian.
Her unique and wonderful sense of humor is evident throughout the book and she offers some great advice to young women throughout the read. Throughout her career so far, Kaling has been a role model for young women, especially those of color. In the book, Kaling talks about how she often receives questions regarding her confidence during the interviews she does while promoting her work. She exudes an aura of confidence, something many girls lack and that is just one of her many admirable qualities.
“Why Not Me?” is one of the best books you can currently find in the humor section right now. (But while you are there, also take a look at Judd Apatow’s “Sick in the Head” and Aziz Ansari’s “Modern Romance.”) It is a must read for anyone that wants a laugh or some seriously wonderful life advice.
